A Brief Commentary on… Insurgency
Insurgency is one of those games that I love for a number of reasons, but that I really have a hard time getting into. I love Insurgency for it’s objective-based gameplay, the tight responsiveness of the controls, and the beautiful FPS on even last-gen builds, but Insurgency is not for people who struggle with FPS games, and their community seems to be bent on making sure it stays that way. I have never been particularly great at these kinds of games, and it really shows as I play the game, with my teammates invariably noticing this as we play. Of course, many games share the issue that I am about to place on Insurgency’s shoulders, which is that my team almost always gets incredibly “heated” at the notice of a below-level player, and will almost always verbally abuse such players, and in some cases, even kick them for “trolling” or for just being bad.
Outside of this issue, I really do love the game, with its tactical gameplay and responsive controls. If you have some friends to play with, I would totally recommend jumping on this one ASAP.
